These music play dough mats are a fun and interactive learning activity. Your students will learn to recognize basic music symbols in a fun tactile way! Print, laminate and use these .pdf pages as playdough mats, tracing sheets, coloring sheets, and find and dab music activities.
This product contains 2 versions of each page: with a tracing line inside the music symbol and without a tracing line inside (82 pages in total).
Symbols used: Treble Clef, Bass Clef, Alto Clef, Flat, Sharp, Natural, Staff, Bar Line, Double Bar Line, Repeat, Fermata.
Notes and rest used: dotted whole note, whole note, dotted half note, half note, dotted quarter note, quarter note, dotted eighth note, eighth note, four sixteenth notes, eighth note pair. Whole rest, half rest, quarter rest, eighth rest.
Dynamics used: fortissimo, forte, mezzo forte, pianissimo, piano, mezzo piano, crescendo, decrescendo ( Italian term and the definition).

this was a great resource. Students could see the note, identify the note, draw the note, and make the note with playdough. This helped them transition to using the note correctly in their music.

I used this with my younger kiddos when I was going around to classrooms on a cart. Students could not stop fooling around with the playdough in their desk. I thought if they are going to do that then let's at least make it music related. Great resource!

I absolutely love this resource. I was looking for activities related to music for my grade 1 students to use and this is exactly what I was looking for. I use the cards with tracing lines for printing/formation practice using white board markers and i use the others with playdough.
